System hang on lid close/standby

T61p either freezes with blank screen or reboots immediately when I close the lid while the notebook is going standby (just after Fn-F4). I just sometimes forget to wait patiently
I have updated Power Manager (1.22), video drivers (6.14.11.5685), EasyEject (2.33) and changed several BIOS settings with no success.
PM is set to "No Action" on lid close as I use the dock frequently.
Has anyone experienced such behaviour?

Yes, the T6x are much more temperamental than T4x. With my old T41, I simply close the lid, undock and put it in my brief case.

Now I have to press the undock button on the minidock first. Several times the computer stayed on and refuse to enter standby. Sometime I have to open the lid and press Fn-F4 to get it to enter standby.

Lid action is set to Standby in my power settings.

I have the exact same problem. When the system is in the process of going into standby and I close the lid, it just reboots.
