Yours is 15", right? If it's like with the T4x models, the screen in the 15" models has more play than in the 14" models, so it is possible yours is normal.

I've never owned a 15" T4x, but you might have a point there ... but still, this much play is unacceptable for a <2 year old system that's been barely used as a laptop.

I am not happy about the T61p's hinge as well, it wobbles, although it's very very little. However, I am afraid it will get worsen after a year or two...

Should I get them to fix it now, or just wait till it gets worse? I only had the thinkpad for around 2 weeks.... I cannot believe the hinge is already loose.... I had my x30 for 5 years, the hinge does not wobble at all, although its not as tight as before,no wobbles!!!

it's really bugging me, i can tell you it's going to be da same as those x22 in a few years if i don't get it fixed.

Question, does Lenovo repair this, what should i tell them over the phone.

Tell them you've got loose hinges. They will accept the laptop for service. Whether they actually fix it or tell you that it's normal is beyond me.

I have a T61P 15.4" with the loose hinge. I got it replaced yesterday.

OLD Hinge assembly

PART Kato 42W3655

PART Reel 42W3656

NEW UPDATED PART: 45N4181

The technician claimed that this is a new and updated part. Let's cross finger that it would last longer than the last one
