vga out no longer working?

#1 Post by perry_78 » Fri Feb 22, 2008 5:38 pm

Long story short, I got myself a decent TV a while back, and was planning on using my T60 to watch movies on it. It registered on the screen the first time, looking a little fuzzy, most likely due to the tragic cable I'm using.

But after that, I can't get any monitor to register any signal from my laptop. I've tried setting an external as primary boot, still nothing. Anyone have any ideas on what else I could do to try to fix it, before being forced to send it off?

Thanks.

have you tested it with an external monitor other than your tv?

If for some reason the default resolution is set to one outside the range of the lcd tv, you will not see a display.

Yes, I've tried with other monitors as well, same issue, I get a "no signal" reading from the monitor.

It may sound really silly but have you tried Fn-F7 combination to switch between external display and onboard LCD?

Yes I have. I'm inclined to believe that something went haywire with either the connector or the mainboard.

I'll re-install XP and Ubuntu and give it another shot, otherwise simply send it out for repair as soon as I can.
