[Resolved] T60p : Mac adresses

#1 Post by gdiwii » Sun Feb 24, 2008 12:04 pm

The mac address of my ethernet card is different is in the bios than its real (the one sticks upside the T60p)

How can i revert it in the bios ?
I tried to reset the eeprom several times with ibautil -defcfg..

The clean solution would be to contact mackcam and use the warranty.

Any idea ?

open a command prompt (start > run > cmd.exe) and type ipconfig /all to get a list of your devices and their respective mac addresses.   these will match what's listed in the BIOS.   chances are the sticker you're reading on the bottom of your T60p is for a device other than your ethernet card (ie; wi-fi, bluetooth, etc.).

I've got two adresses for two devices :

- Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection
- Intel(R) PRO/1000 PL Network Connection

The first one is ok.

I used macaddresschanger.exe to change the mac adress of the ethernet card. So it's ok within windows..

But i don't understand why when i reset the eeprom of the ethernet card with ibautil (http://www.intel.com/support/network/ad ... 008212.htm)
the original address is not keeped after the manipulation and in the bios.

Why the hell the factory setting of the eeprom give me a wrong address ?!?

Strange.. Anyone already had this problem and found any issue ?

This problem is finally over :D

EEUPDATE.exe did the trick !! (ftp://ftp.extensa.ru/Drivers/DESKTOPS/V ... OS_XP/AMT/)

You've got to burn it on a bootable cd.

May it help someone else too
