Where is my bluetooth and Irda?

#1 Post by rajpanesar » Tue Feb 26, 2008 4:04 pm

I know that I should have checked this before but I tried to sync my Thinkpad to my phone and realised that there is no in built Bluetooth or IrDa....!!

Owning a T43p a few years ago which had this which when upgrading to a T61p (UI03FUK) I thought having spent that much dosh that this would be in built... :(

Can I get Lenovo or buy the modules myself and install them, if so how and would that invalidate my warranty?

Thanks in advance...

You are half right, the UI03FUK has no IrDa, but does 100% have Bluetooth. Maybe you've overlooked something?

I just got my first Thinkpad (T61) past week and thought they forgot to add the bluetooth module that I paid for. While on the phone with their support, I figured out that theres an option to turn the Bluetooth and Wifi radios on and off with the Fn+F5??? I think that's the key since I don't have the laptop nearby.

Hope this helps.

The physical location where the Irda used to be is now used by the Firewire port.
