T60p loses keyboard -trackpad-mouse after waking

#1 Post by JoeM42 » Mon Mar 03, 2008 9:07 am

My 8744 T60p intermittently loses the built-in keyboard and trackpad following waking up from hibernation or sleep. It seems to do this more often from hibernation. Sometimes putting it back to sleep and waking it up again solves the problem, sometimes not. It also loses the Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse after waking the machine when I'm docked. Customer support had me do a bios upgrade, but this didn't help. Has anyone else seen anything like this?

i have not, but it sure sounds software related to me..

does a reboot get everytjhing back..?

that, i think, would be the first thing i would try..

it does not seem to be a loose cable issue since the keyboard and trackpad have different cables last time i looked and you cqan verify this by looking at the hardware maintenance manual..

and the same thing happens to your external keyboard..

start here http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-62465

and select your favorite language..

then look here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-66958

these two manuals should give you a good start on narrowing the possible causes if hardware related..

A re-boot always restores everything back to normal. Thanks for the links to the troubleshooting guides.
