Maximizing Battery Life

#1 Post by ataraxia » Mon Mar 03, 2008 9:28 am

In the Thinkpad Power Manager -> Battery Information -> Battery Maintenance.

I've tried both Custom charge thresholds of Start charging below 30% (stop at 100%) and the optimize for battery lifespan settings.

I primarily keep the laptop on the advanced mini dock, and the battery meter stays at 100% no matter if I run the battery down or leave it. It seems that the settings have no effect.

How exactly does this setting work?

Thanks,

-Michael

well first of all, set the system to stop charging at 90% or maybe 95%, never 100%. And then you said you set it to start below 30% but even when you run it down and plug it in it still goes?

I'm guessig you have a T6x series since this is the forum for it but incase, the old T40 didn't have that option :) So for the T6x part of it, i'd uninstall it and then go install it again and see if they stick then.
