t61p with intel 4695 AGN need a close start(solved)

I am newbie to my t61p, acutally my t23 work with me over 6 years around the world. I discovered my t61p get a problem. Everytime after restart or power off and on again, he cannot discover my wireless (asus wl500g or belkin n) next room (brick wall)until I go close to it, don't know the reason, by after reconnected, I can walk around with him with all 90%+ coverage. I using vista ultimate 32 now, when I still using xp, I do not get these trouble, so I think it should not be a hardware problem. Anyone get any idea? Many thanks.

Welcome to forum! Check the advanced power settings both in Vista and in Lenovo power manager for the wireless card. Vista tends to have some "unusual" default settings (speaking from my own experience)

Thanks Marin, I had try set many config and didn't make difference, I had downgrade back to XP and seen only a little bit better, don't know rather the antenna inside t61p is decrease senstive by the metal frame inside the lcd cover, but my t23 still work prefect!! Still working on the xp process, may try locked in one mode (b or g) and try again. Thanks for your advise.

I use a spectrum RTA see the frequency around me, discovered if I use G brand, it apply to one of existing 2.4Ghz brand, after searching around, it is a TV wireless connection box next door, but measure the distance, it is closer than the router to the place where I use my computer most, ask favour for man next door, he change the channel and now I can logon anytime I want, seen a jamming function. Function restore. And thanks to everyone in these group. A helpful group.
