Just got my T61 and it has 6 cd marked Product Recovery and one Rescue and Recovery...
Is this a complete set of Vista OS and if it is is there any reason for me to make a dvd back up before I do anything else?

Look carefully, some TPs which have Vista installed have been shipped with XP recoverys. This has caused some people problems.
If you are not sure, make a recovery set yourself from; start - programs - thinkvantage - create recovery media.

If you get a machine with Vista Business or Ultimate they send out XP Pro recovery CDs. Business and Ultimate include the right to downgrade to XP Pro. Some other manufacturers like Fujitsu are doing this as well. By all means make the recovery discs so you'll have both sets.

www.lenovo.com
support & downloads (top)
select your product (notebooks, then family)
parts information (left)
choose link recovery cd & dvd part numbers
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-68137
there should be a part # for the set on the packet the cds came in
you can also find parts breakdowns & user's guides from links on the same page.
hope that helps

You better make your recover disc first like advise above. My tp come with 2 sets of disc (yes, two set with difference date marked on it), and both XP SP2. And I am so careless to use them, result I need to purchase a set U32 from ASC.
