Is it possible to change the Function key (Fn) into the Ctrl key, can't get used to Fn being there instead of Ctrl. Any help will be appreciated.

Simply not possible. That key is wired directly for its special purpose so the machine can perform specific tasks independently of the OS if needed.
Depending on your OS (I would think you could do it with Linux), you should be able to disable its functionality and map other keys to use it... but it will always still generate events.
I've been using ThinkPads since 1993. They all have the Fn key where it is, and I've never heard of anyone mapping away that use. You'd have a hard slog if you want to take this on.

the FN key is in a good spot if you ask me because it makes it easy to find at night to turn ont he thinklight and screen brightness and even playing music without searching.

Speaking from personal experience...one'll get used to the ThinkPad's keyboard layout soon enough. It's far less funky than, say, an older Toshiba's.

Download Keyboard Customizer from lenovo.com and you can set your keys in any way you like.

I always have a problem with the FN key because it's opposite what it is on my Dell. On the Cell it's CTRL FN WINDOWS ALT.
Gets me every time
