if this has been addressed, apologies in advance. I tried searching for exact answer and did not see it. I did note that at least one prolific poster is using this on a T61P
I currently have 2x 1GB DDR667 and upgrading this week to 2x2GB on Vist Ultimate 32 (which I will hopefully sidegrade to Vista 64 Ultimate)
My question is I already use a 4GB SD card that seems to work fine with Vista Readboost. I have an option to get intel turbo memory cheap and so I am wondering if I can run booth and get any benefit. Since I dont use WWAN I dont think I lose any options going forward. But I am having some issues where my browser will only open 6-9 tabs before refusing to open anymore.
Anyone with experience/advice on this would be appreciated.
Using Vista Readyboost with Intel Turbo Drive
If you are getting 4GB total RAM than you should upgrade to Vista x64. You will get to use all of your RAM with better utilization. I do not have Intel Turbo Memory but if I could get it I would. I use a 4GB USB stick for Readyboost and having it internally would be nice. I do notice a very small difference with Readyboost and without.
with that much ram readyboost looses much of its purpose if not all. That's for systems with 512MB of RAM, they cna just stick a already owned 4GB usb thing to get some speed from the system. If you have even 1GB it'll help.. once you get to 2GB and beyond it doesn't help really as Vista puts itself into RAM instead of the pagefile.

well, i have the side bar gaget running, and i can see memory usage stays around 60%, so I think more ram is good, and i do find the 4GB SD readyboost really does speed things up.
The question is will the Intel Turbo memory help much or at all ? I do have the 16MB Cache 200GB Sata drive, but this laptop will be with me along while so I dont mind spending a lil more to get more 'speed'.
thanks
