trackpoint scroll -changed settings

The Track point changed setting and i am not happy.
Prior to today,
holding down the middle trackpoint mouse button a scroll icon (looked like a little scroll bar) appeared
Holding the joystick up would scroll up.
holding the joystick down would scroll down.
releasing the red joystick would stop all scrolling.
the also worked sided by side.

Now
a single click of the mouse engages it. a little circle icon with a dot in the middle and an up and a down triangle appears.
The screen scrolls in the direction of the pointer relative to the little circle icon.
so taking ones finger off the joystick.... it keeps scrolling.... until you bring the pointer back to the circle icon.
then clicking again turns it off.

I tried Fn F8 -> manage settings
all possible setting (that i could find) of the accupoint(track point).

I really dislike the current setting.

stand down, alls good. I rebooted and it returned to normal. whiskey tango foxtrot?
