Online Warranty Lookup

Got my t61 last weekend, and on Monday I called and purchased the extended warranty with protection plan (41C9335).

When I do an online warranty lookup it says:
This product has a three year limited warranty and is entitled to IBM EZServ service. Customers may call their local service center for more information. Dealers may provide carry-in repair for this product. Batteries have a one year warranty.
No mention of the protection plan. I thought that (41C9335) was going to upgrade my base 1 year warranty to 2 years, and run contiguously with a 2 year protection plan. Apparently I now have a 3 year EZServ warranty? Can anyone confirm that the Thinkpad protection plan does not show up in the online lookup and I will be safe if I call them and tell them I cracked the screen (for instance)?

It SHOULD say it there. CALL them before you crack it! ;-)

It would be useful to know what specific MT (model/type) your T61 is and where you purchased the warranty extension?

According to ThinkPlus™ and Lenovo CareSM Maintenance and Protection Services it here says:
Lenovo wrote:Step 1:
Check your warranty status and view general warranty information

Step 2:
Call 1-866-968-4465 for products and information or your local Lenovo business partner.

Step 3:
ACTIVATION - If you purchased your ThinkPlus and Lenovo Care Maintenance Services through your local business partner you will receive e-mail instructions from the business partner on how to activate the service. If you purchase your maintenance services by calling the Lenovo PC sales center, activation will occur at the time of purchase.
So, if you bought your extended warranty from a Lenovo partner, you should receive an activation mail in a week or two after the purchase.

The 41C9335 is described in the document Lenovo TopSeller WEB Guide - February / March 2008 - on page 11.

Best regards,

Johan

I bought it direct from Lenovo on Monday, I did call them and all that Habib could tell me is that there is a 3 year depot warranty on the unit. He said it could take up to two weeks for the system to update the warranty status?

<edit>
It is a 6459-CTO unit.

Keep calling and complaining. It seems Lenovo's sales of extensions needs to update IBM's data. I know they are a big computer company so give it at least two weeks.
