Lenovo T61 overcharge for Windows XP ???

#1 Post by Mineya » Sat Mar 15, 2008 3:49 pm

While browsing, I noticed a thread that said Vista comes with a CD "downgrade to Windows XP". Is this correct?

If so, then I was just overcharged $2.50 today by requesting XP on my new T61

By "downgrade", I think they mean the version of Windows, not the price the OS actually costs. Vista being cheaper and offering the XP disc is probably the only way MS can consistently con people into installing it on their systems...now that it has been show to be so inferior at it's present stage of development. Most of us learned our lesson from ME. I certainly did. I think you will find the $2.05 well worth not having to go through the hassle of an eventual XP "downgrade".

There is no hard and fast rule, sometimes they're included with the machines but at others they aren't.

If I were you I wouldn't complain about $2.50 shipping charges.
