USB stopped working suddenly in Vista - Works in other comps

I can't use my Kodak camera or any USB 2.0 Flash drives in my T61 because it says the device failed to start. Lights are on but nobody's home. My USB mouse works fine, as does my Wacom USB Tablet. I even checked the USB ports and made sure they were all working. I checked the camera and USB 2.0 drives on another (XP) computer and they worked fine there.
I also tried plugging the camera or USB 2.0 flash drives in different ports, with nothing else in the other USB ports and still no go. But a USB 1.1 compatible flash drive does work in any USB port.
Seems it has locked out USB 2.0 flash drive devices for some reason. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and that didn't work. Still the same problem.
I've read some threads here on similar issues but none of them are what I'm going through (some things work, some don't, USB devices work in another machine, and I'm using Vista Home Premium, not XP).
Anyone have a similar setup (my setup is in my sig) and problem and know of a fix? I don't want to have to refresh or reinstall Windows (I hope my restore discs I made when I first got the computer will work).
