WWAN Questions.

I just ordered a new T61 (6459CTO) without WWAN.

I currently have a data plan with T-Mobile GSM (N. American frequencies) and use a PC card version of Sierra Wireless daily.

I assume the AT&T/Cingular option is for GSM, is that correct?

Assuming the above is a correct statement, could I unlock the AT&T/Cingular card and then use that with ANY GSM carrier including T-Mobile?

I have read through most of the BIOS hack, er, modification thread(s) at this forum. Correct me, if I am wrong, but isn't that just for non-Lenovo supplied hardware, OR would I need that in addition to unlocking the card?

Assuming the AT&T/Cingular option factory direct from Lenovo is GSM, is there a provision to easily insert and remove the SIM card? I need to be able to use a single SIM card in more than one device (not simultaneously, obviously) and sometimes have a single SIM card in multiple devices per day, if there isn't an external SIM card slot I am not interested.

It looks like about $250 to change the order to add the AT&T/Cingular WWAN and about $25 to unlock the module at http://www.dc-unlocker.com/ I am seriously considering changing the order if my assumptions as outlined are correct.
