Hi Folks, new member.
I have been reading the content in the forum for the last couple of days, and have been impressed with the wealth of information this community presents.
I have owned three thadspads Z,A, and X, and currently am using a HP 17" dv9010us multimedia laptop, which looks great, but is heavy and does not have the touch point (which I loved).
I am looking at buying a T61p and giving my daughter my HP.
With all of the churn I have seen in this and the Lenovo forums around BSOD and Memory/Heat issues, did anyone buy the on-site service plan, and has the service been worth the $33 ?
thanks,
On-site service option

I kind of struggled with this issue in terms of Depot vs Onsite Accidental Damage warranty myself.
After going back and forth and making some calls to Lenovo service and discussing the issue with other Thinkpad owners I finally went with Depot. The reasoning being (as I was told)...with Onsite, unless it is a simple fix, parts will have to be ordered and/or the laptop will have to be taken back to the "shop". A couple of techs I spoke with said they even preferred doing work at the "shop" bkz they had more/better resources and additional support.
One other thing, with a depot warranty, you can usually find locations nearby that you can take the computer to in-person. Bkz I wanted a 4 year contract, I saved aprox. $130 going 4 year depot vs onsite... a cost I would have gruginly paid if I thought onsite provided better service, but in the end I was not convinced it did (of course onsite may be more convenient depending on your circumstance).
