#1 Post by onefournine » Wed Mar 19, 2008 9:20 pm

I have a t60p and when i turn it on it lights up, i can hear it make sound, but the screen stays black? i can still lighten n darken the screen, using the keypad fn function but nothing displays, has any one come across this? it worked just the other day, maybe i disconnected some thing when cleaning the fan? but im not sure. does any one know what would cause the laptop to work but never show any picture??

Can you see a display if you connect an external monitor?

Sounds like the GPU has gone kaput and you need a replacement. Hopefully your motherboard can be replaced under warranty.

No, the gpu is soldered into the system board and swapping out the motherboard is the only option to replace it.
