Right mouse button issue

#1 Post by Ryan101 » Thu Mar 20, 2008 2:43 pm

Quick question to determine if I have a manufacturing defect or not: On your T60/61's does the right mouse button (on the lower set) feel the same as the left? I ask because on my right button you can depress the far ends of the button completely without it registering as a click. Only when it is depressed near the center does it register. I appreciate your input.

My T60's TrackPad left and right buttons feel identical.

IIRC there's a little clip hooked to both sides of said button that acts as a load leveler so that it doesn't matter where on the button one presses it. Either the clip got unhooked somehow via a blunt force impact on the palmrest or possibly it wasn't installed during manufacturing.

Well it has been like this from day one so it must have been a manufacturing or shipping thing. The question is, do I go through the hassle of getting them to fix it or is it worth taking a stab at myself?

You can ask for a replacement if you think it's defective.

Call IBM at 24/7! number at 1-800-426-7378.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.
