T61P Power Up Problem

#1 Post by lndougstevens » Fri Mar 21, 2008 11:07 am

I have a new T61P with XP Pro and 2.0 GB RAM. I have had a few instances where after powering down, sleeping or hybernating, the power on doesn't work. I have had to remove power and battery to restart. Any suggestions?

Try this:
- remove battery and disconnect AC
- press and hold power switch down for 15 secs.
- repeat the press and hold about 10 times
- on the last cycle, press and hold the power switch for 30 secs
- pop in the battery, hook up the AC adapter and try to power it up
This will drain the charge build-up from the capacitor.

With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.
