Gaming on NVS 140M?

#1 Post by rockridge » Fri Mar 21, 2008 12:32 pm

Has anyone played a challenging games like Bioshock or Crysis on a TP61 with an NVS 140M?

I am trying to determine if I need to go to the 570.

Thanks,

you probably do... Crysis on a 8800GT is getting 60FPS bearly so a NV140 would get about 25FPS maybe.

Bioshock should be easier on the hardware but none of these machines are "gaming machines." If you want to get your game on i suggest the 570 but remember you wont be as mobile either. If the machine is to be used as a desktop replacement then go ahead.... if not you'll be sorry :)

Thanks, I get your point.

I currently have a Quad Core Extreme w/8800GTX desk top that I use for gaming. I just wanted to get a system that would be capable if I was going out of town, and wanted to kick some alien butt while in the hotel.

For whatever reason, I could not get Bioshock to run on my T61.. :( and I'm pretty sure it was a video issue. I didn't troubleshoot it at all b/c the game was "free" and I put it on my desktop.

I can play COD4 just fine on my T61 with medium setting. I have not tried Bioshock yet but I guess it could run with some tweaking.
