I just received a T60 2007-EP1 I bought off E-bay. I paid $900. It's essentially a brand new machine - I think it IS brand new, even though it appears to have been kicking around since early 2007. The battery shows a manufacture date of Feb '07 and has 2 cycles on it and the antivirus software had been activated in March '07. The protective film had been removed from the screen and fingerprint reader but the keyboard looks brand new (no signs of wear at all). Factory warranty runs until March 2010. Screen is perfect - no bad pixels. The screen is a bit brighter than the one on my T42 (also a 15" SXGA+), but my T42 is almost 5 years old.

I've bought 'refurbs' before that turned out to be essentially new (like this one) and I always wonder about the path these machines take between manufacture and final sale.

I'm pretty happy with this purchase. I've seen other T60s w/ Flexview go for between $600-700, but this one has the Core 2 processor (T7200) and I was able to call and talk to the seller (seemed legit) so I thought it was worth a little more. Hopefully I'll get as much good service out of this machine as I've gotten from my T42.

PS: Here's another vote for Lenovo bringing back the flexview screens. Once you work with one of these for a while it's really hard to switch to anything else.

I also just picked up a brand new in the box T60 today with 15' SXGA. Code is 2007-75U

How do you figure out the number of cycles on the battery?

Are you familar with the password system? I don't want any passwords that are kept on a chip....just a windows password is good enough for me. What's the difference between supervisor and client passwords? Are those chip based passwords?

I've haven't dug into the password/fingerprint stuff yet, but to check the battery cycles I just double-click on the battery gauge in the lower toolbar (Power Manager utility) and go to the Battery Information tab. I can also get to this utility through the Power Options icon on the Control Panel.

I just registered mine and the warranty is good until November 2010......so I'm quite happy about that.

Now, I just need to remove all the software that I don't need, such as the "Free Trial for Microsoft Office" and all the other stuff.

Once I've removed all the free software and have the computer set up the way I want......can I save that image to the Thinkvantage utilities incase I need to restore it? Or, are the Thinkvantage utilites always going to restore to the default?

I love the UXGA Flexview but just this week was able to feast my eyes on the SXGA+ Flexview and it is awesome.

What kind of warranty and how long jayk?

100% agree - once you've seen a FlexView LCD panel, you somehow always seem to use these panels as your base ref with regards to other LCD manufacturer's panels. - Congrats also in purchasing your T60 at a (what I would consider) bargain price and with a T7200 as well! Nice!
