HGST 7K200 200Gb+crtpy 0A53070 available in UK?

#1 Post by planetf1 » Wed Mar 26, 2008 10:47 am

Has anyone seen the 7K200 200Gb with encryption drive available in the UK? 1.5Gb SATA ok since it's for a T60p

If so where.... I can only seem to find the standard version, although it's difficult to be certain as most sites quote the long HTS... number whilst hitachi support tell me only the part number 0A53070 confirms whether encryption is present or not (very confusing)

Thanks

I would also be interested in one (or the 120-160 GB version) somewhere in Europe but I haven't seen any mentions of this drive lately nor benchmarks against the regular model.

I've given up on it.... I emailed all the UK distributors on the hitachi site and haven't got any positives yet. One responded that they had no plans to stock the encryption model unless due to a massive order.... I don't think "1" counts....

Going for the regular 7K200 200Gb instead.

According to UK vendor span.com they are getting them soon - Maybe worth giving them a bell directly - 020 8288 8555.

Just to close out - ordered the standard 7K200. Wow - fast, quiet, and a big reduction in power consumption compared to 2 drives (100+60)
