T61 Wireless N - Intel 4965AGN

I have a T61 with Intel 4965AGN card. I also just got a Trendnet tew-637ap. It doesn't seem to connect at N speeds. Access Connections says its connected at 54 Mbs, and i've tested via my laptop and desktop.

Anyone know if there is anything special that needs to be done? anyone have this setup? I've seen reviews with this AP and the same intel card, but not sure if it was on a IBM laptop.

Any help would be great. thanks

What security and encryption method are you using? I had to use WPA2 / AES to get speeds above 54Mb.

Ohh that is very interesting.
I set it up with MAC address filtering and WEP (open) to support some older devices.

I will give your settings a try and see how that goes.

The 802.11n wireless LAN does not achieve full line rate performance - ThinkPad R60, T60, X60, X60s.

My connection speed is consistently excellent with 155 Mps in a (100 yr) old home through two floors with walls that have sheet-rock on top of plaster (about 8in thick).

Went from 54Mbps to 270Mbps (if Access Connections is accurate)

I have about 130 Mbps without any encryption with my T61 and Netgear DG834NB. I cannot set the speed higher because of an old Powerbook that is still in use by my teenage daughter.
