LCD Upgrade question from WSXGA+ to WUXGA

I am tempted to upgrade the screen on my T61p from WSXGA+ to WUXGA.
Will I need to buy a new inverter or a new cable to perform the upgrade? Is the new screen all what I need to do it?
Thanks,

your best bet is to compare parts in the HMMs...

I guess your suggestion would work but I am more interested in hand-on experience.
Have anybody here performed this upgrade that they want to share?

I tried upgrading my T60 from XGA to SXGA+ without success. :(
I my case the inverter and the cable was the same as in the SXGA+ version, however the picture on the screen was bad.

My guess is that the interface on the LCD is "one-way" LVDS and the graphics controller therefore is unable to detect if you connect a display different from the one it is manufactured with. It is possible that this parameter is changeable, but I have no idea how to do that.

Please don't let my input stop your project. Let's hear what the real experts have to say about this.

Please let me know how your project gets along :)
