nightmare

#1 Post by remotedevice » Fri Mar 28, 2008 11:21 am

my experience ordering a T61 for delivery to Toronto, Canada has been a total nightmare.

IF YOU ARE A CANADIAN CONSUMER, I RECOMMEND NOT USING LENOVO'S ONLINE ORDERING SERVICE. If you do, beware that it could take up to six weeks to receive your computer.

Several times now, I have received messages from Lenovo letting me know that my computer was about to arrive, only to find out -- after staying home from work to receive the computer -- that another delay has occurred.

Customer service has been deceptive about delivery times, and incompetent to the extreme. Two weeks after I placed the order, I called to check in with Lenovo about its status and discovered that the order -- which had been confirmed to me by email -- hadn't even been placed yet.

I'm thinking of getting a full refund on principle here.

I ordered a special order T61p on March 3rd (special due to DVD writer - and advised at the time of 3 plus weeks shipping). I saw the credit card charge earlier this week (week of March 24th), and UPS tried to deliver yesterday March 27th. So that all stacks up with the stated intention.

Now I have a problem with UPS in that they have no clue on the face of this earth how to deal with working people, and it is fairly hard to pick up because they have no real pickup facility in place. Nonetheless, I may get it tonight, and failing that, Monday evening. But it is a UPS problem, and it is too bad Lenovo doesn't use a different courier. Postal Service (US and Canada) is an entire order of magnitude better than UPS.
