What happened to T61p?

Hi,

on lenovo.com I can't find any information about the T61p anymore. The T61 machines offered lack the WUXGA display, and, more importantly, the NVIDIA Quadro FX 570M (256MB Open GL) is also unavailable. Instead, you get a low profile model with 128 MB :(

Do you know what's the background of this? I heard about the WUXGA panel not being available from time to time, but what about the graphics card?

Regards,
ypnos

Perhaps there's a new configuration, and only the low end's up while they're updating?

I have heard that you can speak to a representative to order the WUXGA high end screen. They may not have a web offering from time to time due to the LCD's availability. Maybe they would have to backorder too many if they offered them on their website.

I just checked and the T61p with 256 MB card & WUXGA is available for me, from the main site. Check again now. Also, and I hope this isn't violating forum rules, but based on the OP's address, are you attempting to order from your educational program if you are enrolled at Stonybrook? It may not be offered through the Stonybrook purchase program.

Mods, feel free to edit gratuitously if this post is pushing it.

Thank you for your help. I also found the T61p models now, selecting by GPU rather than using the product line walkthrough...

And yes, I use the educational program, it gives me a saving of $70 or so ;-)
