Media Card Reader leaves an exposed hole

I've never purchased a card reader before, but just received my AFT PROExpress-7 card for my T61.

When it is installed...and I want to leave it in there.... it pushes that thin door flap open and keeps it open.

This seems like it is leaving the computer extra exposed to dust and such.

Do you just let it "be" like that? Is there a way to plug the huge gap left around the card reader?

Looking in there, I can see that the cavity is somewhat closed deep in there.. so maybe it's fine to just leave it.

What do you think? Do you folks just leave it in place all wide open like that?

I have a media card in my Expresscard slot and thought about cutting a notch in the door. For now it is held open by the card.

you really think the "door" was blocking out dust and such? Really? Anything can go in there easily as pie so the media card reader sticking in/out doesn't make matters worse.

You can buy a stashcard for a blank!

I remember seeing old Dell Inspiron's with PCMCIA Slot card covers - I guess these may do the job of plugging the gap too! :)

They don't fit in thinkpads, unfortunately.

That stash thing is brilliant...just the idea of putting your "stash" in your computer is fun.
