Comparing WIRELESS cards between two T/61

Hello fellows,
This is my first post in this forum
I have a question which is puzzling me :
I have put 2 laptops T/61 next to my router.
One of them has an INTEL Wireless WiFi - Link 4965 AG
This one was giving a 100% graphic connection.
The other one has an INTEL Pro Wireless 3945 ABG Network
This one was ging a 75% graphic connection.
Does this mean that one laptop is equiped with a better wireless card?
If yes, how can I improve the weaker one.
Thanks for your help.

you know what's funny... i had the opposite of that sorta.
Well... here:
Thinkpad T60 w/3945 - Seemed to get stronger signals but whatever
Thinkpad T60 w/4965 - Doing good and all... upgraded router too but both looks good.
Then i went to NYC this weekend and stayed at a friends house. She didn't have wireless but there were some around the area. I scanned on my T60 and found 3 and my girlfriend with a Dell Inspiron 15.4" with a Intell 2200BG found like 7 signals and they were all nice and strong. I'm getting crappy speeds and she can load pages nice and fast.
There goes my "Thinkpads are so great" - slap in the face! LOL
So i guess there's lots to be said about wireless, So many things matter that it's hard to pin down. Even with similarly configured laptops it can be different so i just gave up.

Running netstumbler on my Sony TR3A and my TP side by side.
The Sony sees 12 to 15 AP's while the TP only sees 3.
A bit disappointing

I thought that SHoTTa35 just said that his girlfriend's Dell was using a 2200, which is an even older INTEL card, and got better signal than the newer ones.

Gentlemen,
It is so nice of you to interact in my message.

Actually, I think our friend SHoTTa35's remark stands logically as far as radio is concerned.
Still I am so puzzeld by this that I would still dig around and wait for your suggestions as to reach a result.
