I have a bead on a new-from-a-retailer T60p 0r T61p
T60p is a2007-9ZF IPS Flexview, Core Duo, 1GB , DOS-OS License: Listed at $3593 CDN - probally reasonable *at-the-time*

Alternate Choice:
T61p 6440DVF (TopSeller) T9300 Core 2 Duo, 2GB, WinXP Pro Listed at $1899

Using for AutoCAD - Mainly 2D + Office apps. SketchUp 3D w/OpenGL
On this basis, the T60p would most likely be fine, and certainly better the my current trustworth A21e

Pros and Cons.
I think the T60p is overprice retail for a discontinued model, with 1 to 1-1/2 generation old CPU. But! it does have Flexview screen, 1600x1200

T61p, latest and greatest more of everthing aand less money

T60p adequate fro job with screen of great aclaim. T60p seem to be prone to heat judging from many threads this Group

T61p appears to be better value, but! T61p's with Nvidia 570 and RAM in both slots seem to be getting bad press here and the Lenovo discussion groups re:BSOD and 3D.

What might one expect to be a reasonable price of a new, but discontinued T60p model? Or am I asking a group that would pay arm and leg for a "last years" model with Flexview :)

Comments???

Seems like a no-brainer, especially at the price - the T61p!

(and just use 1 RAM slot until they figure out the fix!)
