Stupid Question of the week

I just got my T61 WSXGA 15.4 widescreen. It feels like when I upgraded from the 770 to the A31: Wow.

My question is, what is this slot in the front of the laptop, just to the right of the trackpad? Looks like some kind of card reader? It's about 6 inches to the right of the wireless on/off slider.

it's the card reader slot

Stick a SD card in there (and then pray) LOL - i think it's that anyways... someone asked about that once.

It isn't mentioned in the HMM and I couldn't find a picture of it on Lenovo's site...

Went out and bought a 1GB Sandisk SD card, they were on sale at Walmart for $10, plugged it in and it recognized it instantly.

Just to show you that you can't believe everything you read on these forums; someone had posted that SDHC cards don't work on the T61p. I just mounted an 8GB SDHC card and it started up perfectly.

People post incorrect info all the time. We try to catch them when we can but sometimes one slips through.
I use an SD card in my R61 too. Works fine.
