T60P wireless - drop outs, BSOD, Vista SP1, driver

I have Vista SP1 running on my T60P 2613 CTO.

My wireless connection has become a serious problem as it drops off every 2-5 minutes, and recently started causing BSOD (blue screen of deaths) saying athr.sys caused the problem.

I am thinking that perhaps Windows Update updated my wireless drivers automatically and mistakenly.

When I go to Device Manager it says I have an
"11a/b/g/n Wireless LAN Mini-PCI Express Adapter"

but I don't trust Device Manager because it is just showing what the current (Atherton) driver is telling it.

I called Lenovo phone support but they basically had no idea what I was talking about and wanted to send me recovery discs.

Can someone here tell me in factual reality which wireless card I *actually* have in this T60P 2613 CTO? Then, where do I get the *correct* Vista driver for this wireless card?

Thank you.

Athr.sys is the atheros wireless card device driver. If the maker of the card isn't specified, it usually means its an IBM/Lenovo card (atheros). Have you tried uninstalling the wireless driver and re-installing it?

edit: Did they first suggest you do a recover from the hard disk recovery partition (just wondering why they wanted to send you recovery disks)?
