Should have worked just fine as far as I am aware. Recovery CDs are usually backwards compatible, so your newer set should have worked on your older machine (?)

May it due to different type number? or I did wrong in steps?

1) I put in the recovery boot disc (CD-ROM)
2) I choosed english language and accept the agreement
3) exchange the boot disc with recovery DVD

Error message show up with "wrong disc".......

thanks

Well, I've use a T40 recovery CD on a 600E - worked just fine. And I've used a T42 recovery CD on a T40 and a T41 with no problem.

Have you ever used these CDs successfully before (you might have got a bad/mixed up set of CDs)?

The 2007 series has discrete graphics while the 19XX T series has integrated graphics.

This maybe the reason why it's not working.
