I have Thinkpad T60 1953 DAU
Today I wanted to disable finger print option from BIOS.
I rebooted system and hit "ThinkVantage" blue button
I entered required passphrase and got ThinkVantage page.
But I am shocked to know there is no "Access BIOS" option in the
list.
Earlier I used "Access BIOS" option from same page.
It's no longer displaying.

Any help?
I also check Client Security Center status after booting in Windows XP but nothing to do there...I am in trouble now....

Press F1 button instead blue ThinkVantage button when Thinkpad starts to boot, it will take you directly to BIOS... Don't know why option is gone....

Thanx for a quick reply. yeah I used F1 key and I got access to BIOS. But in IBM manual they said access BIOS by pressing blue button. Strange! In my case I cant see Access BIOS option in ThinkVantage GUI.

I just disabled annoying finger print authentication and embaded security chip. Unless there is 1 GB ram installed, those features are not worth. Yes security remains intact but my laptop always remains at my home so no worries about theft etc.

1 more question I would like to ask as it seems like your R60 basic config is same as mine. I also have 2300 processor. Any feedback you would like to give after adding 2 GB ram? Or it was pre installed ? I am currently having 512 MB preintalled ram in my T60
and using Windows XP pro which was preloaded as well. I wonder if any good improvements to see by adding 2 GB ram?

I am planning to add 1 GB single DIMM + currently installed 512 MB ram = 1.5 GB ram.

Regards,
AmeY.

It's little off topic but... My R60 originaly came with 512MB RAM, but I added 2 x 1GB modules (they are rather cheap now).. Improvements are great, it boots just slightly faster, but I noticed great improvement when working with more than 2 app at the same time (it's really responsive now, due to no swaping to page file)... If you want to get max of your machine plug in some more RAM (more the better), and consider getting 7200rpm hard drive...
