1. every time i try to start the lenovo update program from the thinkvantage button, it stops working. i tried compatability move with xp sp 2, but that sent me in an infinite loop and didnt fix anything. i have .net installed and everything SHOULD be ok, any suggestions? i really dont want to go through the trouble of a reinstall - although i dont see much of another way around it.

2. i have a creative zen mp3 player that stopped working some time ago. every time i plug it in it tries to install the drivers and fails (sometimes it says that the drivers are successful in installation after i use an install cd, but then still goes undetected) with an mtp error. either way, vista is just not running the drivers needed for me to access the mp3 player. i went through all normal avenues of troubleshooting (ex firmware update, etc) and it still doesnt work

Hi,

please uninstall System Update. System Update may wants to update itselves.

The again install the new version of System Update on your TP
May be so it works.

My System Update stopped working on my Vista Ultimate x64 SP1 machine a couple of weeks ago. Here's what worked for me:

I installed a new version of Microsoft .NET (If you have XP, uninstall the current version first).
I reboooted.
I uninstalled System Update 3.13.
I rebooted.
I reinstalled System Update 3.13.

Now my System Update works. I think I somehow got my .NET installation corrupted.
