Hi,mates
Does an HP authorized MC8775 work with T60p?
If found a very cheap used HP authorized MC8775 at google shopping a few weeks ago but just don't know whether it will get along well with my thinkpad T60p, otherwise I think it will be a good deal

I don't know and I'm not sure anyone else will. But, given IBM/Lenovo's history of "FCC compliance", I doubt it very much.

Probably not. Thinkpad used to and might still have set in place that only authorized cards can be used. People have been able to fool the machine, but not without some work... Not sure if it is worth your time.

Please refer to this Post for a possible work-around to get a NON-Lenovo WWAN card recognized & working within a ThinkPad.

If you google that part number, you'll find out that two things seem to be listed under it and the second is some WLAN card. For which the price would be much more believable and it might be an error in description.

YES! - Thanks to Zender's modified BIOS - here's the procedure.

1. Installed WWAN Antenna(s) (91P6989) & Sim card slot (41W1353)
2. Taped over PIN 20 on the WWAN HP hs2300 HSDPA Broadband Wireless Network Adapter / Sierra Wireless MC8775 embedded module
3. Flashed current BIOS 2.20 with modified .FL1 (T60 Ver A) file using Winphlash
4. Downloaded & Installed the HP WWAN Broadband Wireless Drivers (2.0.16.0)
5. Downloaded & Installed the generic Sierra Wireless 3G Watcher (R2.4.0.1.1618) - controls Radio On/Off state.

Connects & works a-ok with excellent signal strength received on THREE & T-Mobile (UK) HSDPA's service - Many thanks once again Zender. :thumbs-UP:
