Reasons why the viewing angles on T61 14.1" are so bad

I looked up the specs of the makers of 14.1" wide on LG and Samsung website. Check out what I found:

Samsung 14.1" WXGA+

LG 14.1" WXGA+

The viewing angles on the LG is a little bit better but still outright bad. I wonder why they even make this crappy LCD.

It is cheaper, which means laptop makers can sell laptops at a lower price (think profit by volume than by margin) and probably many laptop buyers are not as picky as we are
