I have to "repair" my wireless connection on each

#1 Post by Bfskinnerpunk » Sun Apr 13, 2008 11:01 am

Whenever I shut down, hibernate, or sleep my computer, I have to "repair" my wireless connection to get going again.

It is a minor inconvenience, but surely there is a quick fix for this.

I have the "N" wireless card in a new T61.

I would think that if my computer was able to "repair" the problem, that this repair would stick... not requiring a new repair every time.

I have an old 802.11b Linksys system.

Any solutions?

In the Device Manager, select the laptop's wireless network adapter, select device properties then click the power management tab and deselect the option to "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

It took me a bit to find that device manager... being unfamiliar with that stuff.... but it worked!

Thanks Meekus!

Interesting. I have that setting enabled on my machine and I'm not experiencing that problem. But good to know to try disabling that if I start having problems like the op.
