I have a T60p that is locking up occasionally. The fan continues to run and the output is very hot. (until today, this happens when not docked)
Today, while in the dock it locked up again. I did some searching here and suspect the heat sinks are clogged.
In order to get to the fan and sinks, I have removed the palm rest and the keyboard. However, I have not been able to figure out how to remove the keyboard bezel (the plastic piece behind and beside the keyboard area).
I have removed the four screws on the metal brackets that are attached to the bezel and can raise it at an angle so I can see the fan, but I don't seem to be able to completely remove it.
Many of the postings indicate this is possible but I can not seem to determine what else is holding it on.
Can someone tell me how?
Thanks.
Eric

I don't think you have to remove the bezel to see the fan blades. If you can see the fan blades you just need to spray the fan cavity with compressed air to clean it. Hold the blades still with a screwdriver while spraying. If you insist on taking off the keyboard bezel, there are actually 8 screws to be removed, 2 of them from the bottom of the unit. I suggest you download and use the T60P maintenance manual.

Thanks for the info.
The amount of dust I could see was so insignificant that I thought being able to see the grills would be necessary. However, I did blow it out without removing the bezel and have it currently in the dock without the keyboard so that I can get some critical work completed today. So far, no issues.
Thanks again.
