TV out functionality through VGA on a T61p?

I've just bought my daughter a T61p to replace her moribund T41. She plays DDR (that's "Dance Dance Revolution, not "Double Data Rate"!) a lot with her college friends, using a large TV screen for the display. With her T41, I bought her a S-Video-to-Composite adapter to connect the T41 to her TV. The T61p doesn't have TV out so I'm looking to connect the VGA port to the Composite TV input.
The adapters on fleabay all say "Works with laptops and desktops with VGA cards that have TV-Out function capability through the VGA connector". Anybody know if the T61p has this functionality? I scoured the Lenovo site but it seems to have become pretty dumbed-down from what I can tell.
Thanks

This thread discusses the options, and I agree with the post there made by cwwozniak. you would need a VGA to TV scan converter and the expensive ones are only adequate.

Hmmmm............ not the answer I wanted to hear, Harry!
Anybody know of any other options to get her up and dancing without too much pain or money?

Look on e-bay for vga to tv converters. I just bought an old averkey3 for $30. It's not great, but you can get a 640x480 image on your analog tv. digital tv is another matter entirely.

I am curious about his.
Could not the OP just buy an Advanced mini dock, and go that route?
I would be interesting in knowing as I got one, but had not had time to set it up, and was wondering whether I could hook the T60 to the TV via the minidock.

I think the Advanced Mini Dock has a DVI output which will be similarly lacking in TV out functionality (?)

Funny, I was looking for a T4x machine a while back precisely because it was the last (and lightest) model series to have the S-video out native on the machine, at least to my knowledge.
Good luck with that, although I feel sorrier for the people living in the space beneath that DDR-setup... I've seen how much crashing and tumbling that involves.

Thanks Masterus. I see that has a SCART plug on the end. Unfortunately, I know nothing about how those work as we don't use them in North America. (I also don't read what I think is Polish?)

I have a bid on e-bay for a RealVision PCMCIA converter which got a couple of good reviews.
Good luck with the new addition!

Thankfully, she lives in a house with 4 other girls and a concrete slab foundation!

Whats wrong with a direct cable

I think if one were to install third party video drivers, such as the omega drivers, they allow for one to output in pretty much any resolution, and any format. If so, this $5.00 cable might work fine for this purpose.

Yeah, these are pretty much the ones available on e-bay which are not supported on the T6x:
"Note: Though this adapter works with most video cards, some video cards do not support this adapter. "
Translation:
"This probably won't work with anything"!
