Intel 82566MM Critical Update Released by M$ on 4/15/08

Has anybody else had this LAN driver update pop up? I've ignored it because I don't trust Microsoft's driver push with my perfectly-functioning Thinkpad and ThinkVantage apps. This doesn't make me feel warm and fuzzy, however, given its "critical" status. Worse still, Microsoft didn't post any notes with the release.
As you can see from my signature, I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit. Have any other Vista 64-bit users seen this pop up? Does anybody have more information regarding what was addressed with this update?

I got this update on Vista 32 as well. T61p. Marked as important. I have not installed it, however the notification of new updates is getting annoying. I'm waiting for Lenovo update. Last time I did a MS update was to the graphics driver, I had to revert back to the Lenovo one. did you do the MS video driver via MS Update??

great... I went into Windows Update to uncheck the update, and it was installed automatically. I'll let you know of any problems with the Network update. I still havent installed the video update.

so far no issues nor side effects even though, as many of you, would have preferred seen it pushed it as a proper Lenovo update

If you guys REALLY want to be proper about it, go to Intel's site and download the stuff yourselves. That's how I do it.
