You usually have the right answers, or possible suggestions on these marvelous machines. Can you come up with anything that might help me get my system info/warranty & parts page back?
Thx for looking,
Mic1
T60p 15.4WSXGA+
When I go to the "learn about my computer section and click on help center, system information, Warranty & Parts I receive the following error; Access to \service-info.html denied. I wanted to check my FRU parts list. I understand I can get fairly accurate info on web, however I don't understand this error, or the best way to correct it. I tried un-installing/re-installing productivity center and help center, same error...........Any ideas to retrieve the original factory info page?
Thx in advance,
Mic1

I was able to replicate the problem on my thinkpad too, I believe this is Windows Vista specific issue since on another thinkpad running XP I was able to lookup the information without any error.

Have you tried right-click starting ThinkVantage Productivity Center and running the suite with administrator privileges? Running in the program in admin mode may give it access to system info files it otherwise wouldn't be able to access...
Thanks to you both for the fast replies.

RYENGINEER, as always thanks for checking it out for me. Your responses to everyones issues on this forum always get my attention first....... Hart22, thanks for that suggestion (didn't think of that, as I've never had to go that route before). I tried it, still have the problem, however now there is a diferent error that reads as follows:
QueryStatusInfoCode()returned 500. After clicking on the OK button, a new smaller window opens up titled "service-info" and in the main field reads, "unknown server-error".
Seems like the issue started after my main drive had been reformated, maybe I lost the original info page when the system restore partition was re-installed. As RyEngineer stated most info is available on line and this is no big deal, just was nice to have access to FRU part numbers and warranty info on the machine. I've had this T60p for just about a year and must say, I love it, never had any serious issues that I sometimes read from others. I really do think this is one of the best laptops available. I of course don't have any knowledge regarding the T61's...............
Thanks again to the support community for the answers to common problems (sure beats IBM service in Atlanta in most cases).

I get the same QueryInfoStatusCode() returned 500. I click OK and get a new response of Unknown Server Error. I click OK and the Warranty and Parts Info page opens!
