scroll pad buttons: how to disable

I did a search...I swear I saw this topic somewhere.

I rest my T61 on my lap when I'm laid back in a reclined position. This often shoves the front edge of the computer against my clothes or stomach and this will typically depress one of those trackpad buttons.

Is there a way to disable those buttons?

I have never used a thinkpad before, but I am now totally addicted to that track-button in the middle of the keyboard!
When I first touched it, I thought, "man, what an annoying gimmick!".

Using that thing makes those bottom button useless, so can I disable them?

Just press fn+f8 and disable the trackpad (I think it should also disable the buttons)

You can also disable it via BIOS.

Thanks.

After fiddling with your advice, I realized that those bottom bottoms are a part of the "trackpad" as a whole.... so disabling the track "pad" also disables that bottom set of buttons.

The top three buttons remain active.

cool!
