#1 Post by mahorn » Fri Apr 25, 2008 3:09 am

i just bought my T61 and i'm thinking of getting a 2nd hdd adapter. i know APS does the primary HDD but does it do the 2nd HDD in the adapter? if it doesn't will there be any issues if i permanently leave the HDD in the adapter? thanks

APS is only for the primary HDD AFAIK. And you will not have any any issues leaving your 2nd HDD in the adapter permanently. Most of us do that (and use the optical drive as needed, which once in say 3 months) :)

Quoted from Help of Active Protection System:

ThinkVantage Active Protection System can protect the following hard disk drives:
  • 1. the primary hard disk drive of your computer
    2. the secondary hard disk drive that is installed in the Ultrabay(TM) Slim of your computer
    3. the secondary hard disk drive that is installed in the Ultrabay Slim of the UltraBase(TM) Dock if you attach your computer to the UltraBase Dock
    4. the secondary hard disk drive that is installed in the Ultrabay Enhanced of your computer
