Can't find ACMainGUI.exe to run Access Communications

I tried to run Access Communications (for the first time) and, even though there are dropdowns hanging off the "Start" button, the system couldn't find "ACMainGUI.exe", which, I guess, is the executable for AC.

I hadn't tried AC before, but I just went thru the whole bloody process of replacing the AC, Hotkey, PowerManagement and 3945 drivers in an attempt to get my wireless going. And it worked! For an hour, then the wireless quit again.

So I thought I'd try this "Access Communications" thing I'd been reading about, and it deadended. Oh yeah, I scanned the system looking for the exe and all I found was a pl for it.

Bah.

Make sure that you have .NET 3.0 installed before you install and use access connections ... I have seen realy weird issues if thats not the case.

Oh no! Not the dreaded .NET!? I got all tangled-up in something a couple years ago trying to install that [censored] thing on the T40 for something that I eventually decided I could do without.

Isn't .NET just another gateway drug (like ActiveX) designed to make us helpless blank-eyed slaves of M$FT?
