Any T6x or Thinkpads capable of driving 30" LCD @ 2560x

#1 Post by crashnburn » Tue Apr 29, 2008 6:57 pm

Any T6x or Thinkpads capable of driving 30" LCD @ 2560x1600?
Say a Dell 3007WFP or Apple Cinema Display?

Is there any extra equipment setup that could be used to do so with a Thinkpad or other laptop. The thought I have is some of the latest T6x might / should be able to do so.

Just quoting from NBF... for the sake of shared knowledge.

Nope! As far as I can tell it wasn't until the the 8XXX series video cards came out on the XPS that dual-link DVI was supported (and I have only heard rumors it works). No geforce 6xxx 7xxx laptop card on dell systems has dual-link DVI support which is needed to run the monitor at full res.

any of the discreet T6x models can support 2560x1600 over dual-link DVI-D via the advance mini dock and advanced dock.
