t61p freezes when dock power is lost

#1 Post by sb37 » Fri May 02, 2008 8:08 am

Hi --

I usually use my t61p (14") with the advanced mini dock, but occasionally lose power, most commonly due to accidentally kicking the cord. When the power cuts, the whole laptop freezes and I need to forcibly power off and reboot. Has anyone else experienced this, and does anyone know how to fix this issue?

you likely have an old BIOS.   this issue was fixed in version 2.10.

download location:

info about the fix:

you have to disable the legacy ports (serial and parallel) in the BIOS for this to be fixed.   if you need to use these ports then the only workaround is to purchase a UPS or be more careful not to disconnect the power cable.
