New Hitachi HD for T60 2007 4AU - install issues

#1 Post by LacquerHead » Mon May 05, 2008 12:26 pm

So I purchased a Hitachi 2.5" SATA HD, 200 GB and 7200 RPM. I was trying to install it, but the XP boot disk said that it did not find a HD in the notebook, what possible reason can there be for this issue? Is there some switch on the HD itself I have to switch on? As soon as I put my old HD back in it booted up fine. Thanks!

Go into bios and set the drive to compatability mode rather than AHPI (or whatever the letters are)....that will fix it. Common problem, lots of people get caught by that.
