I'm having issues with my T60, which is just under a year old now. The wireless card doesn't want to connect to my router anymore. It keeps getting an IP of 169.254.xxx.xxx which I know is the PIPA IP when it can't get any info from a DHCP server. Problem is, the router is working fine for my other roommates, just not my laptop. I had this issue before and I just reformatted and wiped my laptop and it worked for awhile. Now it's broken again. Is the network card just faulty or what? When I reformatted, the only things I installed were Microsoft Office, Firefox, Thunderbird, NOD32, Outpost, and all the updates for XP/Lenovo.

If it were me I would just assign myself a fixed ip address and proceed from there.

Are you using the Access connections that IBM offers or just using windows to control your wireless network?

using windows, access connections seems broken to me atm.

I can use the fixed IP but then it seemingly breaks itself =/

I don't know which router you are using but if its possible I would try another. I have spent many hours working on problems just like you are having. Sometimes simply changing the router will solve the problem.

Before giving up on the router, make sure you have the latest firmware for the router installed. Doing so fixed some intermittent loss of connection issues I was having.
