until now i've used IBM t41 with accesories from the T6x family like Sata Second H.D and DVD multi burner. now i bought T61 7661-BK7 and i want to use my Battery pack in this model.
is it possible to modificate the battery pack from the t41 to fit t61 ultrabay ?
another unrelated question- it's just me or the T41 is alot more energy efficient ?
thanks.

You can't use a T4x battery in the T6x series. Optical drives, ultrabay HDD adapter - yes, but not the battery.

probably just about 5hrs in a typical T60. I'm thinking of getting one now. Your T40-41 with a 9cell could get about 7hrs or so right? Even a T42 and T43 only got about 5hrs normal usage.

Tips I've found that work to increase battery work time.
1) Shut off the modem in the bios (unless you need it of course).
2) Shut off all radios (wi-fi, bluetooth. Fn-F5) when you don't need them.
3) remove the ultrabay device if you're not using it (unless it's a battery of course).
4) set power management to maximum battery life.
5) Max out your RAM, so it doesn't use the swap file (but don't turn off virtual memory in Windows, or you'll have all sorts of problems).
6) Dim the screen to the lowest levels
7) if you're listening to something, use wired headphones instead of speakers.
You'll be able to see what works and what doesn't by setting your battery wizard to show wattage. I've brought it down from around 14W to 10W using those tips.

i did all of this with the t42 and disable deviced in device manager like pcmcia Ethernet (if using wifi) modem, IE1394
still the t42 is better in power consumption.
i want to monitor how much the T61 consume but i cant run Rmclock or NHC on Vista X64 anybody got any idea how to run those on Vista X64 SP1 ?

You can run rmclock by pressing F8 while booting up (like booting into safe mode) and from the list that appears selecting the option that allows you load windows without signed driver enforcement.
